Hon. Mrs Amaka Obi is a political scientist, Human activist, women mobilizer and an entrepreneur of high repute. She’s married to Mr. Chike Obi of Awka-Etiti in Idemili South LGA. Presently, she is the CEO of Precious Meal Kitchen and Rental Services, with locations in different States and diaspora.

She obtained her bachelor’s degree in education with specialty in Political Science and Management from Enugu State University of Science and Technology. Also, she meritoriously obtained her master’s degree in Educational Management from Enugu State University of Science and Technology. It is worthy to note that Hon. Amaka during Her early career days also obtained Her National Certificate in Education at Nwafor Orizu College of Education, Nsugbe and presently doing her PhD with High Stone Global University Texas, USA.

However, between 2014 to 2016, Her political prolife blossomed exceptionally with Her election as the first female legislative leader of all the elected Councilors in Idemili South LGA after she won Her 1st elective position as the Councilor representing Awka-Etiti ward 1, the first ever elected female councillor from Awka-Etiti ward 1. Her distinct performances as a sagacious Leader earned her greater honour to emerge, the Leader of all the legislative leaders in Anambra State.

Moreover, due to her passion for women emancipation and empowerment, Hon. Amaka presently is the founder and National Convener of Women Initiative for a Greater Anambra (WIGA), an NGO registered with Corporate Affairs Commission through which she massively mobilized Anambra Women across the 21 local government areas in support of Prof. C.C. Soludo’s victory in the 2021 Guber election.

She was appointed Special Assistant to the Governor on leisure, parks and beautification under the Minstry of Environment by Gov. Willie Obiano. Hon. Amaka Obi emerged, the Woman leader of All Soludo Support Groups from 2021 till date.   

During the 2021 Guber election in Anambra State, she held the following positions

1. State Campaign Deputy Director, on Women Voter’s Education 
2. Idemili South Campaign Director, on Women Mobilization

Her distinct qualities in grass-root mobilization and leadership charisma in Idemili earned her the following appointments during the 2023 general election:

1. Director General (DG), Hon. Ikenna Iyiegbu Campaign Organization (APGA candidate, Idemili North & South Federal Constituency).

2. Deputy Director General, Hon. Dozie Nwankwo Campaign Organization (APGA candidate, Anambra Central Senatorial zone)

3. In addition, Hon Amaka Obi was selected a Member of  80-man Transition Committee of Prof Chukwuma Charles Soludo led administration.

Morestill, Hon. Amaka Obi was appointed Transition Chairman, Idemili South Local Government Area in August 2022 and was later appointed member, Joint Account Anambra State Committee by Prof. Chukwuma Soludo, (Executive Governor of Anambra State).

In just one year in office as the TC Chairman of Idemili South LGA, she has transformed the face of governance at the local government with developmental strides on education, security, health, agriculture, environment, infrastructures, human capital development and women empowerment through skill acquisition training. Being a grass-rooted administrator.

Hon. Amaka Obi’s great leadership style made the good people of Idemili South to elect her the Executive Mayor of Idemili South LGA in September 2024. She became the first female elected Mayor in Idemili South and the only female Mayor out of the twenty one (21) mayor’s in Anambra State.

Hon. Amaka has maintained a very cordial relationship with critical stakeholders , traditional rulers and town union leaders, civil servants and women leaders who have given her massive support. This has enabled her to achieve a lot in office as Idemili South Local Government Council Mayor.

Nevertheless, she has attracted the attention of the state government to the local government which led to the flag offs and completion of numerous road construction and erosion projects by the executive governor, Prof. C.C. Soludo.  She has been honoured with numerous awards, notable among them were: Award of excellence by ASATU Idemili North and South; Outstanding Chairman’s award of the year 2022 award by Rootswatch Magazine, Abuja; Excellent leadership service award by department of Public Administration, Nnamdi Azikiwe University Awka.

Hon. Mrs Amaka Obi is family oriented, she is married and God blessed her with four wonderful children.
